Our official Diamond Jubilee Homecoming
celebration blasted off on Saturday, October 9th with our 75th
Anniversary Tailgate Party in the RHS Stadium parking lot with food and fun for all; next, the RHS Homecoming Parade kicked off by our famous RHS Band leading marchers, decorated cars and floats to celebrate
75 years of Roosevelt history. Later that afternoon, our Mighty Panthers met West Side High on
the gridiron for our 2004 RHS Homecoming Football Game. It was a thrilling battle for the conference title, and WE WON!
Later that night the stars were shining as 'Velt Alumni
and friends from every era partied down with music and dancing at the
Gary Genesis Convention Center as they enjoyed the RHS Alumni Diamond Jubilee Homecoming Dance
Our exciting weekend Homecoming
Extavaganza concluded on
an uplifting note on Sunday,
October 10th in the famed Roosevelt
High School Auditorium with our RHS
Diamond Jubilee Ecumenical Service and Concert featuring Roosevelt Alumni Ministers and other distinguished alumni delivering timely and inspirational
messages to the many hundreds
in attendance. There was also soul-stirring
music of praise and thanksgiving
from local choirs including our own Roosevelt Student Choir, and uplifting
offerings from local praise dancers.
